Colour grading is amongst my favourite stages of filmmaking. It has the potential to make or break a work, regardless of the quality beforehand. Grading can stylistically define a film, as a process of exploring possibilities. My work as a colourist consists of more conventional, ‘commercial-quality’ grading, as well as more experimental, lo-fi and ‘stylised’ ventures. I enjoy the challenge of working with lower quality footage (whether it stems from compression or the footage / camera it was filmed on) and the degree of transformation possible in such instances.
I grade on a Flanders Scientific monitor to ensure colour accuracy. I have a decade of experience with grading using DaVinci Resolve.
